In the main railway station, descend to the level below the platforms. Take one of the elevators near platform 13 and exit at the top level called Grosse Schanze. You will find yourself on a platform in front of the main University building. Go to the opposite side of this building, turn right and follow Sidlerstrasse for about 150 meters. At its end follow the left bend into Alpeneggstrasse. You will find the Institute 150 meters further down the road on the right hand side.
On the A1 highway take exit No. 36 (Bern-Neufeld) onto Neubrückstrasse. Follow Neubrückstrasse for about one kilometer towards the city center. At the crossing with Mittelstrasse/Engestrasse turn right and follow Mittelstrasse. Take the first turn left into Brückfeldstrasse and drive till the end. Turn left, and immediately turn right again into Alpeneggstrasse. You will find the Institute on the left hand side. Note: all parking spots in the area are in the "Blue Zone" and require a visitor parking card issued by the municipality of Bern (valid 4 or 24 hours).
